Shirley Erskin Skeet Lohness, 58, rural Baldwin City, died Thursday at her home. She was born July 16, 1956 in Lawrence, the daughter of Chester Lee and Mary Francis Holden Erskin.
She worked for Bendix King for many years and retired from a home cleaning business she had for several years. Shirley loved camping, gardening, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Shirley was married several times and had a son, Robert Grey of Lawrence and a daughter Holly (David) Anderson of Baldwin City. She is also survived by a brother Thomas (Lenice) Erskin of Eudora, sister Mary (Tom) Wilson of Perry, sister-in-law Karen Erskin of Lawrence, grandchildren Dakota and Collie Grey, many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She and her brother Big Ed went together to see those who preceded them, their parents, brother Vernon, sister Margaret Reeves, and Hank Dog.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation.
