Oren C. Jones, 89, Lawrence, died Friday, September 11, 2015, at Medicalodges Eudora. He was born Oct. 16, 1925 in Sparkman, Ark., the son of Clinton B. & Connie Essie Green Jones.
Mr. Jones was a World War II Navy Veteran and retired after many years from FMC. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, and painting.
He married Areta M. Gunn on June 10, 1944, in Lawrence. She preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Oren I. Jones of Harvest, Ala., a daughter, Lana E. Vantuyl of Lawrence, 10 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and daughter Areta M. Barnett.
Graveside inurnment service will be held at 3 pm. Tuesday, Sept. 15. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.
