A memorial visitation for Robert Eugene ‘Bobby’ Freeman, 55, Lawrence, will be held Thursday from 5-6 pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory. Bobby died Friday, Jun. 17, 2016, at his home.
He was born May 2, 1961, in Roswell, New Mexico, the son of James W. and Glenda J. Wells Freeman. He served in the United States Army.
Bobby worked in HVAC with Niehoff Dunco for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and canoeing.
He married Diane M. Earls on Mar. 24, 1978, at Danforth Chapel on the University of Kansas campus. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Jason Freeman, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Amanda Freeman, Lawrence; a brother, Avery Hedgecock and wife Nicki, Oskaloosa; and two grandchildren, Dylan Kia Freeman and Ellyn Sage Freeman.
I’ve known Bob for many, many years and used to enjoy getting the chance to just sit and talk with him when we happened to be working our respective jobs at the same jobsite. I always thought of Bob as a competent and wise tradesman as well as just a neat guy who, on occasion, would talk about some interesting topics. Just some months ago, I happened to be finishing a job and Bob was out working on the same house where we were the only two people on the site. Every now and then, we would take a break and just sat and talked about whatever. I am going to miss my occasional meetings with Bob. At least I still have my furnace that he and his brother put in several years ago to remind me of him- I have never had and problems with it! Rest in Peace Bob.
Sincere Condolences To The Freeman Family,
I hope you have peace, comfort and strength to face the days ahead. And loving memories to carry you through this sad time. “For everything there is an appointed time, even…a time to weep.” Ecclesiastes 3:1,4. With Loving-Kindness,
