Todd David Harrison

A memorial service for Todd David Harrison, 54, Lawrence, will be at 11am on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

He died January 10, 2017, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Todd was born June 13, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, the son of David Lee and Carol Dian Taggart Harrison.

He graduated from Davison High School. Todd attended the University of Michigan and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. He spent much of his career as an IT Consultant and helped many Fortune 500 companies implement SAP Software. He worked for many consulting firms and finished his career at SCT Software.

Todd was a loving father and husband. He supported his son Matthew whether he played Soccer, Swam on the Swim Team or played in the band. He was also active in Matthew’s Boy Scout Troop, 59. Todd was the ultimate handy man. No matter what was broken, he could fix it. Even when he didn’t have the knowledge or time to do it himself, he would review what had been done and many times found things that the “professionals” had not done correctly. Todd enjoyed working on his 1978 Ford Truck. He and Matthew would spend hours in the garage fixing or replacing many different parts. He always said it was his therapy. Todd also enjoyed fixing and riding his motorcycle.

Todd married Mary Lynne Hahn on February 24, 2001 in Keystone, Colorado. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his son, Matthew Harrison, Lawrence; his sister Stephanie Croteau (Brent), Kalamazoo, MI and his parents, Lupton, MI.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A visitation will take place from 6pm to 7:30pm on Friday, Janurary 27, 2017.

The family suggests memorial contributions made to KSDS Assistance Dogs, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St. Lawrence, KS 66044.

From Kent Hurlburt...

Mary, Matthew, and Todd’s family. I was saddened to hear of Todd’s sudden passing. I knew Todd for about 30 years, since we worked together during college. I have fond memories from those days and of Todd’s friendship. More recently, it seemed we only had the opportunity to get together every three or four years. But when we did, with Todd, it was as if it had only been a few days. He would be quick to reminisce about old times, of road trips we took, and funny situations we’d gotten into. As if all that time hadn’t passed. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

From Jeremy Wagner...

Todd worked on our SAP implementation back in 2010 and he quickly became our favorite consultant to talk to. As with most consultants his schedule had him fly home on Thursday afternoons so before he would head out he always stopped by my office where he and my office mate would have what we called “Thursday Fun” where we joked around and chatted for a while. He was very warm and humorous. My condolences on his passing.

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of my good friend and colleague, Todd. I worked with Todd on two SAP projects and always enjoyed being around him. He was very good at his job, but it was his personality that I loved most. He had a pervasive sense of humor combined with intensity and frankness. Even when frustrated, a laugh or a smile was never far away. I shall miss him very much. I extend my sincere condolences to Mary, Matthew, and family.

My sincere condolences to you for your loss. Todd was a great friend — one who cared deeply for others and would do anything for anyone. His passion and energy for life was magnetic; Todd did everything 110%. I am grateful that I got to know both of you through my friendship with Todd. I remember fondly the fun Euchre games at the kitchen table in your home in Colorado Springs. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

My condolences and deepest sympathies to Mary, Matthew and all of Todd’s family. He was one of the first people I met when I moved to this country, and I will never forget how he helped me during the difficult first months with an open ear, practical advice and his particular sense of humor. Although we sadly lost touch over the years, I will deeply miss knowing that he is out there happy with his beloved family.

Dear Mary, Matthew and Family,
It was such a shock to hear of Todd’s passing. Although we haven’t keep in contact as much as we should have over the years, I have many fond and funny memories. He was a good friend and colleague whom I will miss. The years we all spent on the Hills Project and the fun we had makes it easy to recall, and Todd was a big part of that. My deepest condolences.
