Clyne Emerson Foust, 72, surrendered to God’s whisper and went home to our Lord on 13 March, 2017.
He was born 28 December, 1944 in Hutchinson, KS., son of Milton Emerson Foust and Dorothy Rose Lyon Foust. He lived in Hutchinson until the early passing of his father wherein he and his mother moved to live in Lawrence, KS. He graduated from Lawrence High School and went on to graduate from the University of Kansas with a bachelors degree in Psychology. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He was a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson chapter with a family line dating back to 1633 in this country.
After college he lived, and boy did he live, in Georgetown, Colorado where he met and married his wife Laura Elizabeth Jensen Foust on 1 April, 1973. He is survived by Laura, his wife of 43 years, sons Russell Emerson Foust(wife Rhiannon) and Owen Clyne Foust(wife Lisa) and sister Janenne Clark Welchons. He lovingly left 2 grandsons, Clyne and Jayce, and 3 grand daughters, Kate, Claire and Elle.
Clyne was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Clyne was retired from, but the founding owner of Foust Fleet Leasing in Topeka and was happy to have his sons take over where he left off and continue his legacy.
Clyne was a rock, had an exceptional sense of humor, loved life and family, loved the mountains and defined unconditional love. Family first with our Lord as his guide, a good and faithful servant. He was loved by all. Loved old Porsches, restoring International Scouts and breathing the good Colorado air next to a stream in the mountains.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on 31 March, 2017 at 3:00. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Second Chance Animal Refuge Society, Salvation Army or the Wounded Warriors sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O.Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.

As Clyne’s next door neighbor at the Dealership on 29th St in Topeka, I got to know him quite well. We even watched each other’s kids grow up in the Auburn-Washburn School system and even worked a pancake feed or two together.
Clyne always had fun things to say and was willing to share his insights on each of our businesses. He will be sorely missed. I feel privileged to have him as a friend. My sympathy to all his family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We so enjoyed Clyne in our “driving days” together, including trips to take Jannene sporty cars! Our family was so appreciative of Clyne’s visit to the hospital before my husband, Bob Scrimsher, passed away.
Clyne was very proud of his sons and family, a sterling man who will be missed.

Jannene, I am so sorry to hear about Clyne’s passing. I enjoyed meeting him in Colorado. He seemed like such a kind and loving man. I know you will miss him terribly. My prayers are with you and your family.
We cherish men of Clyne’s temperament and talent, and we hate to lose them.
Cline was not only a brother to Jannene, but she was his best friend. She misses her “little brother” very much.
Clyne sat directly behind me in church. What a terrific guy! Everyone around him loved his easy going nature, and we also knew how much he loved his family and little dog. I am so glad he is included in our church’s 150th memoir book. He will always live in the hearts of those who knew him, but now he will be known to future members of our congregation too.
So sorry for your loss. He sounded like a marvelous father. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I knew Clyne when we were growing up in Hutchinson. He was a good man and will be missed. Peace and prayers to the family.
