Lloyd A. Weldon

God called Lloyd A. Weldon home on May 9, 2017, shortly after celebrating his 80th birthday.

Lloyd was born on April 24, 1937, in Oakland, CA to Walter and Jeannette (Parsons) Weldon. In 1939, the family moved to Moorhead, IA where he graduated high school and attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA. In 1978, Lloyd moved his family to Lawrence, KS, where he established a permanent home. There he founded Weldon Enterprises, Inc.

Through his generosity, he found joy in serving his community and helping others. His affinity for college basketball, particularly the Kansas Jayhawks, lent well to the time he enjoyed with friends. Lloyd’s love for life and relationships with others shined especially when he spent time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.

Lloyd is survived by his sister Marjorie (Weldon) Hahn and her husband Dr. Fred Hahn of Independence, MO, his daughter Kimberly and her children and grandchildren of Denver, CO, his son Randy, his wife Kristen, and their children of Lee’s Summit, MO. He was welcomed into Heaven by his son, Kevin and his parents who preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eudora United Methodist Church. 2084 N 1300th Road Eudora, KS on June 4th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made directly to the Clinic for Special Children  535 Bunker Hill Road PO Box 128 Strasburg, PA 17579 , or sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
