Beverly A. Gist

Funeral service for Beverly A. Gist, 74, Lawrence, will be 10 am Friday, June 23, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Reverend William A. Dulin will officiate. Mrs. Gist died Friday, June 16, at Brandon Woods. She was born June 11, 1943 in Lawrence, the daughter of William F. and Doris June Crane.

She was a homemaker. She worked as a babysitter, and South Junior High in food service for several years. She was a member of V.F.W. Alford-Clarke #852, and the Centennial Grange, where she and her husband  were named the “Kansas State Young Couple of Grange” in 1975.

She married Willis Homer Gist on July 6, 1962 in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2008. Other survivors include two daughters, Shelly Lauber, Topeka, and Linda Bascom, Fort Worth, TX; two sons, Mark Gist, Meriden, and Lee Bouchard, Olatha; two brothers, Robert C. (Patsy) Crane of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sheldon (Debbie) Crane of Bennington; 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

She will lay in state Thursday noon to 8 pm. The family will receive friends Friday from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
