A visitation for Lauma Lou Pagan, 77, a resident of Lawrence, KS, will be held at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery, Osage County, KS at 2 p.m. where Lauma will be laid to rest beside her husband and son overlooking Melvern Lake.
Lauma passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Hospice House and Palliative Care Center, in Kansas City surrounded by loved ones. Lauma was born in 1940 in Newton, Kansas the daughter of John and Edna Geis. She was united in marriage to E.C. Pagan on January 15, 1984 in Strong City, KS. He preceded her in death May 2015. They were married for 31 blissful years.
She is survived by her brother, children and spouses; brother: John (Linda) Geis. Children: Rick (Lucinda) Dodd, Newton, KS, Robbie (Christina) Dodd, Fort Worth, TX, Lorinda (David) Hartzler, Lawrence, KS, Lavonna (Gary) McAlister, Lawrence, KS, and Barry (Kelly) Pagan, Casper, WY. 8 grandchildren: LaTanya Graf, Garrett Dodd, Jesse McAlister, Jade McAlister, Harrison Hartzler, Summer Hartzler, Hannah Hartzler, Noah Pagan, and Jordan Pagan. 3 great-grandchildren: Mackailynn Graf, Gage Graf, and Grayson Graf
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Dodd in 2011.
Lauma was a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, Aunt, and friend. She had a deep passion to keep family traditions alive, and a sincere desire to spend as much time as possible with her family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. She was her grandkids biggest fan; Celebrating birthdays, hugging, snuggling and kissing them; cheering loudly at all of their sporting events. Win or lose, it didn’t matter. She was so proud of all of her children.
Rarely did Lauma ever miss a KU basketball game, or a Bronco game. She was a fun-loving, cheerful woman with a beautiful smile and laugh that would light up any room. She lived life big, and had a loving heart for Jesus. Although Lauma will be dancing with Jesus in heaven, she will truly be missed by her friends and family.

Watching your heart wrenching but incredibly sweet journey on Facebook gave us an opportunity to pray more. Sadly, we did not know your mom, but it was obvious she was greatly loved and was a pretty amazing woman. Lauma was a bright light ! She loved hand and foot, she was a serious card player. Such a sweetheart! She will be missed by all of us here at Meadowlark Estates.
