Traditional Buddhist Ceremony for Kham Pokphanh, 79, Lawrence, will be Saturday at 1 pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory. Cremation will follow the ceremony. A visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Kham died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at 10:54 am at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Kham was born Nov. 10, 1938, in Ban Koomthong province of Champasack, Laos. He was a farmer in Laos before coming to the United States in 1980 with his family, and settling in Lawrence.
He worked for Berry Plastics (formerly Packer Plastics) from the 1980’s until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed life and being surrounded by family members and friends. He is survived by his wife, four sons, three daughters, and 18 grandchildren.
