Martha A. Hayden Milleret

Funeral services for Martha A. Hayden Milleret, 97, Lawrence, will be 10 am, Thursday January 25, 2018, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

She died Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Presbyterian Manor.

Martha was born November 5, 1920, in Lawrence, the daughter of Willard Henry and Mary Rosanna Hanna Hayden.  She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School and later went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kansas.

She lived most of her childhood and adult life in rural Douglas and Leavenworth counties.  She managed her family’s farm in Linwood for many years.

Martha married Louie John “Pete” Milleret on April 18, 1948, in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2009.

Survivors include a son Mark Milleret (Melinda), Linwood; a daughter, Phyllis Reeves (Howard), Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Lucille Hansen, Della Hadley and Vera Dellwig; three grandchildren, Jack Reeves, Sherry Swagman and Nancy Hultgren; and five great grand children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Pauline Nunemaker and grandson David Milleret.

A Visitation will be 6-7pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Douglas County Visiting Nurses or the Salvation Army, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
