Mike and family, I just now read about our little Robin while checking to see what you were up to (as I lost your number). Danny passed away in October suddenly. Time goes by too fast. Please feel free to contact me.
Robin ran sound for Uncle Dirtytoes frequently throughout the 90s and she generously allowed us to use her sound system on and off for years. She brought the sun with her in all of her endeavors and I especially remember her wonderful bearhugs. Thank you, Robin.
Robin was a treasured member of the Mid America Electric Automobile Association. Although she never had (a working) electric car of her own she had driven all dozen or so of mine. She could tell you every specification of every one of them. She will be missed and never forgotten.
I worked w/ Robin for years in the eighties/nineties……We saw each other around since then…..the last time I saw robin was at Taco John’s w/ her sister……I really liked Robin( as did my sis who also worked at KU)……I’m so sorry I missed the services…….Robin was fun and clever……hers loss is a loss to all…….Rock Chalk, Robin!!!!
Robin was a sweet soul that I am so very grateful to have known. I’ve missed her stopping into the office with her big hugs and glorious sense of curiosity. She’s left a whole lot of folks with some pretty wonderful memories. Rest in peace dear lady.
I remember Robin fondly from LHS class of ’78. Sorry to hear of her passing, sounds like she had a fun and active life. May she Rest in Peace.
My sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Robin at the Kansas Union in Dining Services from 1990 to 2006. She had a passion for singing Karaoke then that often enhanced our days in the kitchen as she passed through. When I became her manager, she and I worked together closely to improve the services out of her area. We talked about the importance of her job and her role. And as stubborn as she could be, Robin soon embraced the new paradigm and became one of the hardest working, most detail-oriented people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. When I moved up I wished I had someone like her in every unit. Her impact not just in her area but across many facets of Dining Services was significant and that can never be overstated. Rest in Peace, Robin.
Hi i am so sorry about your loss. I help serve robin in the dining room at Pioneer ridge. Her sister pat and her were sweethearts.
A treasured teammate. You will be missed.
Robin had insatiable curiosity. She approached me when the Lied Center opened, wanting to learn all she could about the sound system. She spent many hours watching, listening and occasionally turning the knobs for a show. She taught me how to slow down and listen.
Rosie–I am so sorry to hear this news. Please know I am sending positive thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
I had the privilege of working with Robin for three years at the Union in the early 80s. She was a gem. Back then, bowling was her big interest and she would always share her scores with me. I remember there was constant improvement over the three years we worked together. I’m happy to hear she was honored for all her hard and faithful work.
Robin was my student at LHS back in the 70s. She was so interested and friendly and went out of her way to acknowledge me. I clearly remember her from 40 years ago. That is a tribute to her.
I had the pleasure of working with Robin at the Union for many years. She was a dedicated worker, always willing to help out. In April of 2008 she was the University Support Staff Employee of the Month. Of the many accolades she received, I think this quote sums up Robin, “She is outgoing and friendly and creates a positive atmosphere wherever she goes.” She is remembered often. Stories of her fantastic work ethic are continually shared with new employees. Robin set a high standard that the rest of us can only hope to achieve.
Our thoughts & prayers are with the family at this time. Robin will be missed by all those whose lives she touched in a special way. She was an important part of Auxiliary # 309, Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years serving as our Madam Conductor for 15 years. She is now at home with the Lord.
It didn’t matter what event it was, whether downtown or out at the airport, there was Robin. She always had time to stop and chat and put a smile on your face. We will miss seeing her around town on her scooter!
Robin was a light to the world. She was always interested in helping people, in being involved, and she was a friend to so many. Her light and goodness will be sorely missed. I will always remember how much she enjoyed running the sound system at Unity Church, and how she would consult with the performer, and do all that she could to accommodate. She always made me smile, always made me happy to be where she was. Godspeed Robin
