
Victor L. Lickteig, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in rural Douglas County, on Saturday, March 16, 2019. He was born in Greeley, Kansas to Alfred and Albertine Lickteig on September 22, 1937.
Rosary will be Friday March 22, 2019 from 5-6pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral home 601 Indiana with visitation to follow. Mass will be 11 am, Saturday March 23, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 820 Birch St in Eudora with interment to follow at the Vinland Cemetery.
Victor served in the United States Army, was a 30 year employee at the Farmland Industries Nitrogen Fertilizer plant in Lawrence, retiring in 1992. A Life member of the American Angus Association, served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas Angus Association. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Heart of America Game Breeders Association.
He married LaDonna McPherson on March 29, 1989, she survives of the home. In addition, he is survived by sons Scott (Annette), Liberal; Jeff (JoDeane), Merriam; Tom (Kathy), Ozawkie and Tim (Cathy), Wellsville, 8 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Siblings: Don, Garnett; Steve (Margarite), Greeley; Bernard (Terry), Burlington; Mike (Barbara), Greeley; Fabian (Anne) Cicero, Ill; Leon (Jane), Greeley; Jerry (Donna) Raytown, Mo.; Fritz Hiner, Olathe; Patricia (Howard) Goodeyon, Osawatomie.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Linda Lickteig, Greeley, brother Eugene Lickteig, Greeley and sister Joyce (Lickteig) Burris, Greeley.
Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurses sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Victor was one of the nicest men. He always had a joke or two to liven up the conversation. Rest in peace my friend.
