Doug,
I just heard this news. I’m so very sorry for your loss! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Doug, I’m so sorry to hear about Susan. I hadn’t seen her for years and then ran across her in a store about a year ago.
It was so good to chat with her a while. She certainly was one of my very favorite people in the ladies FOP auxiliary years ago. Always so cheerful with a wonderful smile and so kind.
I know you and your family will miss her terribly and she is now with a heavenly family. My sincere condolences and prayers going your way
Sincerely, Leila Mullens Leary
Susan, we were neighbors and friends for 24 years. We shared such laughter. I miss you.
Living across the street, we would sometimes not see one another for awhile, but I knew she was there and she knew I was there. During that time the things Susan most talked about were Doug, her sons, her grandchildren, her extended family, her gardens, and her genealogy studies. That legacy is a gift to your family.
Doug and sons and grandchildren, my heart goes out to you with your loss. Know that all of you were her life. Blessings prayers to all through this time. May the good Lord bless and keep you.
Doug, sorry about your families loss.
Doug, so sad to hear of Susan’s passing. My deepest sympathy and prayers for peace for you and the family.
Susan always took the time to visit when she took her many walks through the neighborhood. But more important when she was at McDonald’s with a grandchild she had time to say hello. She was a good example of what a mother should be and a grandmother. Her husband has lost a very loving partner, my condolences to him and the entire family.

I remember Susan from when we lived on East 13th. So sorry to hear of her passing. One of the sweetest neighbors I have had. God bless you and your family.
Doug, so very sorry to hear of your wife’s passing. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
Dear Doug and family, we are at a loss for words regarding Susan’s passing. She was such a sweet and loving person and it was always a pleasure to see her when out and about. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Sorry for your loss Doug. I pray GOD give you and your family the strength you need to make through.
Doug: My deepest sympathy to you, the boys and your entire family. Susan was the kindest neighbor a person could ask for. She was so friendly and the first person to welcome me to the neighborhood when I moved in a year ago.
Doug – Sue Lynn was a very special cousin to me and will be truly missed. Before the coronavirus, we were going to meet at the Rest Stop at Lawrence as I traveled to Colorado Springs in May. What a loss to us, but it is obvious that God has other plans for her. May you and the boys find peace and condolence as the months pass by. Love you all
My sincere sympathy and condolences to Doug, sons, and grandchildren. Susan was a remarkable woman who loved beautifying the world with her flower gardening and caring for others. She always found a spot for a new plant. She loved her grandchildren and shared her talents with them. The girls were always excited working side by side in the garden, baking and eating cookies, and listening to her stories. I will miss her smile, giddiness, and her. She was a marvelous person to know. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Doug and Family: We are so sorry to learn of Sue’s passing. We will always remember Sue as a sweet lady full of joy and fun. We always enjoyed meeting up with you and Rogers in Kansas City. You have our deepest sympathy.
Dear Doug, Roger let us know of Susan’s passing. You and your family are in our prayers.
Doug and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Susan was an amazing person. I lost a friend on Sunday. We know that death can come quickly and unexpectedly, but it’s still shocking when it does. I have so much neighborhood gossip to share with Susan. And it’s spring, the time of year when she obsessively mows her lawn and notices all the neighborhood lawns except for my overgrown weed swamp. Even my poison ivy is forgiven. Her lettuce is growing in containers carefully covered in chicken wire to protect the plants from squirrels, and her iris and peonies are almost ready to bloom. This summer her hollyhocks & hibiscus will provide impressive splashes of color to be seen from all the way across the park. Thanks to Susan’s example of keeping a garden journal, I know I need to buy 2-3 Sun Sugar cherry tomato plants and “more” pepper plants. Her yard will soon be filled with hummingbirds and butterflies. Susan will be missed by many.
Doug and family, We were shocked and saddened to hear about Susan’s passing. She always had such lovely flowers in the back yard and I know she will be missed by many…..Glenda Easum and family.
My deepest sympathy Doug to you and Susan’s sons, grandchildren and family. She will be missed by many of us and may she Rest In Peace. She was the sister I never had.
Doug’s brothers and sisters at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #2 were shocked to hear of the death of Susan and we send our sincere condolences to Susan’s family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of grief.
Doug, I was shocked to read of Susan’s passing. I just saw her at the grocery store within the past few months. Although it had been many years since we worked together, it was always fun to run into her while “out and about”. My heart-felt sympathy to you and your family. Ellen Young
