You are in my prayers during this time of sorrow. As a young girl and a previous resident of Lawrence, KS, I have so many fond memories of you both. As I write this note, I can still see Jim in his uniform ready to answer his call of duty to the community. I know there will be an emptiness there, that will never be filled again. May you find the peace of God during this time of sorrow.
I remember Jim and his dad coming out to my parents’ place when he was training to be an officer. They would chat and practice some target shooting.
I am so sorry to learn of Jim’s passing.
Take comfort in your memories of him.
Jim was above a family man. His family had a strong bond that wove itself thru many generations. His outgoing, good natured manner was amplified by his sincerity, integrity, and sense of humor. All of this made Jim superior at whatever he did. A policeman, a craftsman, cultivator of friendships.
Someone to emulate, and honor thru his memory. Lets try to be Jim Like.
Willadean, I’m so sorry to learn about Jim. Treasure your love & memories.
Thinking of you, Diane
Detective Haller was a good man that did his job with compassion. He really helped me out one time and I’m grateful
Jim was a great man and and one of my two favorite Sergeants. He taught me so much on the job. He taught me so much on The South Side. He was so kind and in his own way had a ton of swagger. I will never forget him.
