Mardell married Lester “Les” Hile of Quenemo, KS in Topeka on April 3, 1945, and they were happily married for 49 years. He preceded her in death in July 1994.

Most importantly, Mardell loved being a mother and grandmother. She was the greatest Mom ever! Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Stuever and his staff for the years of quality care for our mother.  A special thank you also needs to go to VNA Hospice.

Sending you warm thoughts and love over your precious loss. I know your mom was so proud of you and Ken is the best son any mama could dream of. Love you Ken!

From Allison Luthi...

To the family of Mardell,
My deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. It was so wonderful that she was able to attend the 2019 Luthi Family Reunion. I have precious childhood memories of playing with the Hile kids at Great Aunt Bessie Luthi’s house in Lamont. And in recent years, have treasured meeting for a meal in Lawrence with Teresa & Steve and Ken.
Love,
Allison Luthi
