Graveside Inurnment for Mary Ellen Stewart, 81, Lawrence, will be 4 pm, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery. A Visitation will be from 3-4 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
She died June 17, 2023.

Mary was such a wonderful , giving ,and kind hearted person. I considered both her and her husband Richard as members of my own family, and will carry the loss of them both as a scar to the end of my days. My dealings in this life have taught me that
it is a rare soul indeed, that will inspire one to set aside preconceived notions and look for the goodness that can be found in others; even if they are different from ourselves. Mary seemed to be able do this effortlessly, and I for one remember always feeling better about the world and my place in it after visiting with her and Richard. I can only surmise that this is but one of the reasons why I spent so much time with the Stewart family in my youth; as they always made me feel welcome , and they always gave me hope about humanity and the future. I love, and will miss you Mary Ellen Stewart, and as i said: You. Are. Family. This world’s loss is surely heaven’s gain. Rest in well deserved peace.
