It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jimmy Flowers, age 43, of Eudora, Kansas, on March 21, 2025. Born on February 12, 1982, to Jeff and Pam Flowers, Jimmy’s life, though brief, was filled with remarkable accomplishments and deep connections.
He was a devoted husband to Kayla Flowers and a loving father to their three sons: Hudson, Tucker, and Graham. Jimmy also leaves behind his mother, Pam Flowers; father, Jeff Flowers; sister, Heather (Jason) Funk; nieces and nephews Emry, Asher, Avenue, and Sawyer; mother-in-law, Lisa Harlan; father-in-law, Sam Harlan; sister-in-law, Lindsey Harlan; and grandparents Janet (George) Berg and Judy Jennings. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jim Flowers and Morris Jennings, and his uncle, Wayne Jennings.
Jimmy’s passions were many and varied. He found joy in building traditional hot rods and shared memorable moments participating in demolition derbies with his oldest son, Hudson. As a skilled fabricator, he had a talent for transforming ideas into reality. His love for attending swap meets and “picking for rusty gold” reflected his appreciation for the unique and the timeless. Beyond his hobbies, Jimmy’s infectious smile and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, Kansas. In honor of Jimmy’s profound love for animals, the family requests that donations be made to the Lawrence Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
Though his time with us was short, Jimmy’s life was rich with experiences, love, and lasting memories. His legacy serves as a testament to living fully and loving deeply.

Jeff, I am so sorry to hear this. I remember him as a little kid coming into Western Auto all the time. He was the cutest little guy and it sounds like her grew up to be a good man. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. My he rest in peace.
Jimmy was and still a brother of 18 years we were brothers by choice not by blood. I love the flowers family they have meant so much to me. Me and Jimmy worked 5 years beside each other on my gasser. You will be riding shot gun where ever I go brother love you man.

I worked with Janet at the time Jimmy Lee was born. Grandma Janet was so pro ud to have a grandson. Jimmy Lee captured Grandma Janet’s heart and now she is heart broken. Jimmy you helped me build a dream and always kept a fire under me. Your wisdom and generosity were second to none. Besides us BS it up at whatever swap we both happen to be at, I’ll treasure that summer we spent in the driveway banging hammers and welding an old jalopy together in the Kansas heat the most, you’ve given me a a life time of memories and I’ll drive this old Ford and think of you and smile as I know you’re riding shotgun in spirit. Jimmy, I wish there was another text from you sharing with me what early Ford you just found. We sure had a knack for digging up cool things over the years and a good time sharing them with one another. I will miss those text and calls talking about our cool treasures. Hard to believe we met around 25 years ago, and of course it was at a swap meet. I miss ya already but when I get in my old Ford Coupe you will stay in my thoughts. Keep banging gears up there for us.

RIP Jimmy. Your fabrication, engineering and welding along with all of your other shop talents and skills were amazing. I am so sorry that you were called home at such a young age. You will be missed by the many souls that you touched in your short life. Kayla and your awesome boys lost a wonderul husband and dad. You will be dearly missed.
RIP Jimmy. I only knew you for short time but you were great help to me. Every car show I go to there was always someone there that knew you and always had good things to say about you.
