
Margaret Ellen Miley, 77, of Kansas City, KS, passed away at her home on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Margaret was born on April 14, 1948, in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of John Preston Richards and Margaret Elizabeth Raybern. She graduated from Lawrence High School. She retired from the Foley Group. Her prior work included working at a community blood center and owning a bookstore in Lawrence, KS called The Book Nook with her best friend, Vicki Fugett. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Dale Miley. She married Dale on June 10, 1966 in Lawrence, KS. They began their life together in Lawrence, KS before moving to Kansas City, KS in 1978.
Margaret is survived by her loving family: son, William Paul Miley, McLouth, KS and daughter, Connie Margaret Horosz, Olathe, KS, and their spouses Lynell Miley and Damien Horosz. She had 6 grandchildren, Zachary Paul Miley, Anna Nicole Firth and husband Alex Firth, Kailey Margaret Hocker and husband, Drew Hocker, Isabel Margaret Dudarev and husband, Gleb Dudarev, Levi John Horosz, Olivia Grace Miley, and 3 great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and her brother, John Paul Richards. Margaret and Dale were actively involved in Rod-Tiques Car Club and The World of Wheels car show. Through this shared hobby they developed many lifelong friendships. Memorial services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Westside Family Church in Lenexa, KS.
Margaret was an avid book lover. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations of books that will be given to local schools to honor Margaret by passing on her love of reading to future generations. Margaret was always kind to me. I have never forgotten her for that quality. I see sincere condolences to her family.
