Rodney Wayne Haeffner, 86, stepped into Heaven on September 20, 2025, at Overland Park Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
A celebration of his life will take place at 11:00 AM, with visitation at 10:00 AM, on Friday, September 26, at Worden Cornerstone Church in Baldwin City, Kansas.
Flowers may be delivered on Friday morning, September 26, 2025 to Worden Cornerstone Church before the service begins, 294 E. 900 Rd., Baldwin City, KS 66006. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Convoy of Hope, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home: P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
Rodney was born on July 5, 1939 in Arvada, Colorado. He was the son of Harvey and Dorothy Haeffner. He married Donna Cox on April 15, 1960 in Arvada, Colorado celebrating 65 years of marriage this past April.
Rodney was a member of Worden Cornerstone Church after moving to Baldwin City, Kansas in 2009, and a longtime member of Calvary Gospel Church in Goodland, Kansas before their move. He received his salvation in 1965 at a Billy Grahm crusade in Denver, Colorado. He was a hard worker. He grew up on a dairy farm, a truck driver, owned/operated two trucks, owned a landscaping business and after retirement he owned a Creative Curb business. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey H. and Dorothy Haeffner and a brother Harvey C. Haeffner. He is survived by his wife, Donna Haeffner of Baldwin City, Kansas, his children Randy Haeffner and his wife Diane of Baldwin City, Kansas, Rick Haeffner and his wife Gina of Colby, Kansas and Robin Rains and her husband Steve of Valley Center, Kansas. His brother, Arden Haeffner of Sheridan, Wyoming and his sister Connie (Stan) Ryder of Canton, Ohio. Rodney is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
