I am shocked and so very sorry to learn that Mona has died. I remember her very well and very fondly from our time at the Applied English Center at KU. (And from when I visited her in Barcelona. What a great time I had there, thanks to her generous hospitality!) I will remember Mona as a kind, caring soul. I am quite sure that her memory will live on in the hearts of her friends, colleagues, and students.
I am sad to here of Frau Hargadine’s passing. She was my high school German teacher. I looked up to her so much and because of her I kept studying German through college. She was a wonderful human being, so open hearted, thoughtful and will be gravely missed.
Mona was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was smart, thoughtful, and fun. I met her through Kappa/Appak in 1985. I can’t believe she left this earth so suddenly. A wonderful friend.
Mona was a good friend from our school years. Even though we lost track of each other after high school, I always enjoyed meeting up with her when we could. I admired her for all her accomplishments and her dedication to teaching. You will truly be missed, dear Mona. RIP
I’m so sorry for your loss my heart goes out to you and your families.
R.I.P Aunt Mona!❤️🙏🏼🕊️
I met Mona through our association in a teachers sorority which morphed into social organization of good friends. Mona was a faithful attendee at our monthly gatherings through many years. She added humor and intelligent conversation to our gatherings. She had the sweetest laugh and a constant smile. She loved her family and her puppies. Even though I moved away years ago, we maintained a friendship through Facebook and occasional gatherings. The world was a better place for Mona’s being here.
Mona was my classmate and friend from way back. She was intelligent, accomplished, and fun to be with. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My deepest condolences to her loved ones.
Mona moved two houses away from me when we were about 9 years old. We had been fast friends since then. I will miss our time together at the coffee shop and occasional movie. Mona was so sweet and a steadying influence in my life. I will miss her terribly.
