So sorry to hear about Gera’s passing. When I was an architecture student in the early 2000’s, I spent a lot of time in the Dean’s office visiting with Patti and Gera. Gera and her husband hired me for various odd jobs and handyman services. They were just outstanding folks and I really appreciated being trusted to work in their home. Sadly I did not keep in touch after college, but her impact on me was definitely positive and bright. Rest in Peace, Gera.
During my time at KU, I enjoyed every conversation I had with Gera. She was always so kind, and interested in how things were going for me and my family. And she was so proud of her family and loved talking about them. A true gem of a human – Gera will be missed!
Gera helped me as an urban planning student by being a bright light to talk to and giver of good advice. I was blessed to get to see her one more time and tell her how much she meant to me at the 50th Anniversary event for the Urban Planning Program. Gera – you were simply the best!
I am so sorry to hear about Gera’s passing. What a wonderful person to work with in the School of Architecture for so many years! God bless you Gera on your journey.
