Kelsey “Brianne” McKay, age 33, passed away September 19, 2026, unexpectedly in her sleep at her home in Tecumseh, Kansas.
She was born on April 24, 1993, in Union City, Tennessee, the daughter of Wendy (Tommy) Taylor and Brian McKay.
Brianne was known for her bright shining smile. She loved life, her family, and friends, and more importantly her son Blake and beloved dog Dyna Girl.
She attended grade school at Central Junior High and graduated from Lawrence High School. She has worked since graduation primarily as a home health care provider. She was a very loving and compassionate care giver to all her clients.
Brianne was preceded in death by her grandparents Leon and Shirley Jones and her aunt Tessa Whisenhunt.
She is survived by her parents and grandparents Ronnie and Beth McKay, sons Blake McKay and Liam McGuire, brother Garrett Jones (Cassie), sister Kirsten McKay, stepbrother Corey Taylor (Ajay), stepsister Courtney Williamson (Cody), stepbrother Cody Goodlett; her nieces Brynnley Williamson, Linden Jones, Huntleigh Boyle Wolfe, Zairin Taylor, her nephews Wyatt Williamson, Wyatt Dodd, and Garrison Dodd, and her beloved dog Dyna Girl.
A visitation will begin at 12:00 pm followed by funeral services at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, Kansas 66044.
I’m sorry I can’t make it. I am sending thoughts and prayers through this time. She was a really great person and great spirit. I’m hoping she is resting and yall get through this. She has got her wings and watching over everyone now.
