Peggy Sue Spurlock (Glasscock), 63, passed away peacefully September 15, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Peggy was born December 14, 1962, in Kansas City, Kansas to Jerry Spurlock Sr. and Ima Jean Harrington. Peggy found joy in caring for others and spending time with her cat, Spencer. One of her favorite pastimes was watching sunsets with her life partner, Andy. She left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Making others feel special brought her happiness, and she often gave away pieces of her jewelry so those she loved would always have something to remember her by. Peggy was deeply loved by her community and will be missed dearly.
Peggy is survived by her life partner Andrew Klebenstein; her siblings Jackie Blankenship, Christina Grammer and Jerry Spulock Jr.; her stepmother Wanda Getter; her children Jennifer Glasscock, Oscar Glasscock, Susan Glasscock, Allen Glasscock (Mary Morales-Glasscock); and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry Spurlock Sr. and Ima Jean Harrington, sister Beverly Koontz, and father of her children John Glasscock Sr.
In lieu of flowers Peggy’s family welcomes donations in her memory to support the homeless community in Lawrence, Kansas. Contributions can be made to Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Memorial services for Peggy will be held on September 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, 1000 Kentucky St., Lawrence, KS 66044. A luncheon will be provided by LINK from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the basement of First Christian Church, prior to the service.
