Graveside services for Willard Leroy “Bill” Hodge, 78, Overbrook, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hodge died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
He was born September 29, 1940, in Lawrence, the son of Willard H. and Vera Marie Bryan Hodge.
Mr. Hodge worked at a clerk for the United States Post Office in Lawrence for 29 years. He later worked for Stanion Wholesale Electric for 12 years and was a volunteer fireman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, dancing, and old hot rods.
He married Melva “Kay” Franz on January 9, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include, a daughter, Elizabeth Kay Stradley of La Grande, OR; son, Douglas Wayne Hodge of Berryton, KS; grandchildren, William Allen Gaines, Jessica Marie Hadl, Kyle William Hodge; great grandchildren, Chassity Marie Hadl, Jaden Marie Hadl, Jessica Church, Dakota Gaines, Hadley Cait Hodge; and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gladys Morris; and brother, Robert Hodge.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home.
