Larry Kent Ledbetter, son of the late Melvin and Lucy (Lathrom) Ledbetter, passed away Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019, in Wichita, Kansas. Larry was born September 16th, 1955, in Lawrence, Kansas. He graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 1973.
Larry married Victoria Will, August 5th, 1977, in Tonganoxie, Kansas. They gave birth to a son, Lance Lee, in 1981. Larry and Victoria divorced in 1999.
Throughout his life Larry worked at numerous locations to include Kaw Motors, Jayhawk Tow, Thorne’s Tree Service, O’Reilly Auto Parts and Amarr Garage Doors. He also lived in Oregon for several years where he owned a tire shop and gas station.
Larry married Kathy Louise Layton on March 17th, 2000, in Tonganoxie, Kansas and gained two more sons, Michael and Rob.
Larry loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, target shooting and spending time with his family. He never knew a stranger and welcomed everyone into his home.
Larry is preceded in death by his brothers, Rocky Dwayne and Gary Ledbetter and his grandson, Devin Hunter.
Larry is survived by his wife Kathy of Garden Plain, KS, his sons, Lance Ledbetter of Whitewater, KS, Michael (Amy) Hunter of Garden Plain, KS and Robert (Melissa) Hunter of DeSoto, KS, his 6 grandchildren, Lasun, Alyssa, Kylee, Maddux, Blake, Trinity and one more on the way, and his two sisters, Teresa Glass of DeSoto, KS and Shellia Will of Lawrence, KS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence on Saturday, April 13th at 1:00 pm with a Memorial Service following at 2:30 pm.
