Virgil T Glenn Jr AKA(Ted, Dad) 93 of Tonganoxie Ks., formally of Pahrump, NV., and Topeka, Ks., died Wednesday Sept. 24,2025. A private internment is planned at a later time at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka, KS.
Born in Atchison, Ks. November 29, 1931 to Virgil T Glenn Sr. And Martha Marie Galbraith Glenn.
The young Ted grew up in the Oakland area in Topeka, Ks. He attended the Oakland Presbyterian Church. He was an Eagle Scout. Ted was a 1950 graduate of Topeka High School. He was a member of the high school marching and dance band with his saxophone.
Mr. Glenn served in the United States Navy 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He was stationed aboard ships that were home ported in Hawaii. The submarines were the USS Stickleback(SS-415) and the USS Cabezon (SS-334). He achieved the rank of torpedo man’s mate 2nd class. He was very proud of his years spent serving his country and the places it took him.
After the Navy he began his career with the US Postal service and achieved the title of Fleet Operations Manager of motor vehicles in Topeka. Ks.
He met and married 1st wife Georgene and 3 children were born from that union. They divorced . He later married Sharon. They finished their careers and enjoyed RVing in their motorhome for many years. Their travels led them to choose Pahrump, NV. as a place to call home.
They remained there until his health led them back to Kansas to be near family.
Survivors include wife Sharon Glenn, Tonganoxie , KS.
Daughters, Debra Barbery, Tonganoxie, KS. Sheri Timm, South Bend, IN. Jan Jones(Bill), Perry, KS. 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren .
Proceeded in death by his parents, brother James F. Glenn aka (Jim, Jeff) grandchild, Ethan C. Jones, son in-laws Thomas Barbery and Bart Timm.
