Allan Conrad Pippert, 65, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, Kansas after a brief, but valiant battle under hospice care.
He was born at Lawrence Memorial Hospital during the ‘51 flood on July 10th. He was the oldest of four children born to Albert and Betty Pippert. As a child he grew up on a farm north of Midland Junction and attended Lawrence Public Schools, where he later graduated from Lawrence High in 1969.
His passion for airplanes led him to join the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged but continued his passion by joining the Air Force Reserves. He attended NCK Technical School in Beloit, school for Heavy Equipment Operators. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator which he had a passion for as well as being a truck driver.
Allan was a member of The Wheelsport Motorcycle Club. Allan was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed reading about airplanes, World War II and science fiction.
He later married Cindy Caleb on October 22, 1982 in Topeka, Kansas. They would have celebrated 35 years later this year. During this union they had a son, Joel, who preceded him in death as well as a daughter, Jessica.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Betty Pippert.
Survivors include wife Cindy; daughter Jessica (Derrick); brothers Bill (Terri) all of Lawrence, Daren of Eudora; sister Denise Willits (Richard) of Netawaka; 3 grandchildren Kylyn, Trenton, Kaitlyn, many aunts, cousins and their families.
The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 7 pm on Friday evening. Services will be held Saturday June 24, 2017 at 10 am at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence, Kansas. Burial will immediately follow at Sutton Cemetery in Baldwin Junction.
