Alice May Dailey

Funeral services for Alice May Dailey, 65, Lawrence, will be at 10 am Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be Friday at 3 pm at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kan.  Alice died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at LMH Health after a very short battle with small cell stage 4 lung cancer.

She was born August 31, 1955,  at St. Mary’s Hospital in Emporia, Kan. She attended school in the Americus school district until her senior year where she graduated from Emporia High School. She briefly moved to Wichita where she studied accounting and later moved back to Emporia where she met and married Delbert L. Dailey on August 24, 1985. Alice lived most of her adult life in Emporia until 2004 when she and the family moved to Lawrence where she started working for the University of Kansas, and retired after 18 years of service.

Survivors include her husband Delbert Dailey, Lawrence, son Ryan Dailey, Overland Park, daughter Natasha Rich, Lawrence, brother Raymond Moore, Woodland Park, Colorado, and her five grandchildren, Connor Flag (17), Overland Park, Hunter Dailey (14), Overland Park, Ashland Bledsoe (14), Lawrence, Cyler Rich (10), Lawrence, and Storm Rich (2), Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Sowerby, father Lester Moore, brother Lewis Moore, and son-in-law Thomas Rich.

Alice was a loving wife, mother, and amazing friend, and all who met her loved her.
