Arlene Edmonds, 94, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 15, 2022.
Ms. Edmonds was born July 7, 1927 the daughter of Raymond (Pete) and Bonnie (Miller) Ready in Winchester Kansas. Graduated Winchester High School in 1945. She married Harold V. Edmonds, April 5, 1947 in Oskaloosa, KS.
Arlene participated in the operation of the family business, Harold Edmonds Construction Co. and later the Edmonds Mini Storage both in Lawrence. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, working in the yard and loved watching KU basketball.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and only sibling, Audene Ready. She leaves behind one child, Rick and wife Glenna (Guenther) Edmonds of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Tiffany Edmonds, Brent and wife Larissa (Johnson) Edmonds; three great-granddaughters, Tayor Moldenhauer, Regan and Lilly Edmonds.
Service will be graveside by immediate family at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Visiting Nurses Association – Lawrence, KS, sent in care of the funeral home.
