Bo Matthew Hopson

A Celebration of Bo’s life will be held on July 15, 2017, from 5-10 pm at Fall Leaf Farms, in the Fall Leaf area north of Eudora.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery sometime after the celebration of life, and will be announced later.

Bo died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., from injuries sustained while attempting to keep the patrons of D-Dub’s Bar in Eudora safe from an armed assailant.

He was born May 31, 1985, in Lawrence, the son of Scott and Leah Hime Hopson. He graduated from Eudora High School, and was working at Honey Creek Disposal and D-Dubs at the time of his death. In his spare time, Bo enjoyed gaming.

Survivors include his father and step mother, Scott and Tina Hopson, Eudora; his mother, Leah Hime; siblings Misty Thakker, Eudora, Jessica Van Meter (Kyle), Eudora, Wesley Bateson, Eudora, and Kasi Katzfey Stevens (Aaron) Parkville, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Delores Hopson, Eudora; maternal grandmother, Sharon Yeahquo, Linwood; aunts and uncles Jim Hopson (Shelly Harper-Hopson), North Carolina, Bobby Hopson (Melissa), Eudora, Kurt Hopson (Patricia), El Paso, Tex., Debbie Hime, and Sharilyn Fulks (Rick); and nieces and nephews Ashlea, Tyler, Parker, Ayden and Alexander. Cousins are Dylan, Jillian, Morgan, Alec, and Chandreah. He was preceded in death by a sister Megan Hopson,  his paternal grandfather Rick Hopson, maternal grandfather Larry Hime, step grandfather Virgil Yeahquo, uncle Brad Hime, and cousin Chad Fulks.
