Memorial services for Charles Michael “Mike” Tarczynski, 75, Baldwin City, will be 10:00am, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Mr. Tarczynski died Thursday, November 4, 2021 at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas.
He was born June 3, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Chester John and Sophie Rosol Tarczynski. He graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1964.
Mr. Tarczynski served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam war and worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed tinkering, shopping, traveling, playing bingo, and spending time in his garage.
He married Marilyn “Diane” Whetstine on June 17, 1967 at the St. Theodore Church in Westland, Michigan. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Ronald Michael Tarczynski and wife Jodi of Burleson, Texas; daughter, Shawn Marie Oprisiu and husband Brian of Baldwin City, Kansas; sister, Shirley Whestine of Canton, Michigan; brother, Chester John Tarczynski Jr. of Novi, Michigan; grandchildren, Genovanni, Dakota, Melinda, Brittany, Marissa, and Courtney.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of the funeral home.
