Graveside services for Dennis W. Findley Sr., 79, Lawrence, will be 10am Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Washington Creek Cemetery, Douglas County, Lawrence, Kansas 66047.
Mr. Findley died March 21, 2024, in hospice care at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa.
He was born July 22, 1944, in Overbrook KS. His family moved to Lawrence when he was a child. He lived in Lawrence for the rest of his life.
The youngest of Samuel V. Findley Sr. and Florence “Mowder” Findley’s children. He served in the USN as an underwater welder during the Korean conflict until he was injured in an underwater accident and became 100% disabled. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and his oldest son Dennis Jr. who passed away in infancy January 31, 1966.
He is survived by his sons Kelly and Christopher/Roxy.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
The family would like to thank Ashley with the Visiting Nurses Association of Lawrence for all her wonderful care. And Ted Boyle his childhood friend for always watching out for him.
