On Saturday, February 27th, 2021, Douglas Lee Buckley, of Eudora, Kansas, passed away in his home at the age of 62.
Doug was born on February 27th, 1959. His parents, Charles and Verna Buckley, preceded him in death, as did a daughter, Jessica Buckley. He is survived by his son, Cody Buckley, and granddaughters, Karin Elkins, and River Sutherland, all of whom reside in Lawrence.
Doug started his life in Iowa and moved with his family throughout the Midwest. Doug decided that Kansas was the place for him. He made Kansas his home for over forty years. One could say that his friends were his family.
Doug was self-employed and worked as a sheetrock hanger. Actually, Doug was a jack of all trades and could be counted on by all.
Doug loved to spend his time with friends. He could play the guitar, which was self-taught. Doug could draw extremely well. One can find his drawings in various places. He loved fishing and mushroom hunting with his son, Cody. Probably, what made Doug the most happiest, was when he was riding his Harley Davidson bike. He loved the freedom he felt when riding. Everyone loved Doug’s laugh.
Doug is also survived by his brother, Jim Munday, his sisters, Cheryl Eichelberger, Sharon Munday, Christine Musgrove, and Debra Thomas.
Celebration of Life will take place at Slowride Roadhouse, this Friday, 03/05/21, 5-8pm. Flowers are not necessary. Donations are welcomed.
