Funeral services for Luella Lorraine Waisner, 91, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, with Pastor Gerald Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
Mrs. Waisner died Monday, August 15, 2011, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 14, 1920, in Spring Fork, Missouri, the daughter of Rolla Warner & Emma Ellen Alderman Neffendorf. She moved to Douglas County in 1951.
Mrs. Waisner sold Watkins products during the 1960’s. She worked as a bow operator for Hallmark Cards for 19 years, until her retirement in March of 1985.
She loved to garden and grow roses. Her pies and cakes have been enjoyed by family and friends for many years. With her loving heart so big, anyone who entered her home became adopted. She will be sorely missed.
She married George Roe Waisner on July 25, 1942, in Sedalia, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2003.
Survivors include three sons, Gene Ray, Berryton, E. Wayne, Baldwin City, and John LeRoy, Eudora; two daughters, Irene L. “Rene” Wissler, and Barbara Yvonne Rollins, both of Lawrence; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
