Genevieve Taylor McMahon, 101, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at LMH Health.
She was born on January 1, 1918 in DeGraff, Ohio to Lee Roy and Laura Pearl Taylor. She graduated from DeGraff High School in 1935, from Urbana Junior College in 1937, and from The Ohio State University in 1939.
On August 2, 1941 she married Gordon McMahon. They had two children, David McMahon of Fairfield, Connecticut and Penelope Dash of Cypress, California.
Ms McMahon taught for 25 years and ended her working life as membership manager for the National Association of Colleges and Universities Business Officers in Washington DC.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Dorothy Catan, and Emily Taylor, former Dean of Women at the University of Kansas.
She is survived by her children, four grandchildren, Colleen Ferreira and Bridget Dash and Rebecca and John McMahon; three great grandchildren, Jane and Jill Ferreira and Nathaniel McMahon; and a nephew Andrew Catan of Mt. View, California and his daughter Emily Catan.
Graveside inurnment will be 11 am, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Pioneer Cemetery on the University of Kansas Campus.
