Robert L. Sanderson

Military and inurnment services for Robert L. Sanderson, 89, Lawrence will be at 10am. Tuesday July 5th. at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sanderson died Wednesday, June 29th at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 28th, 1921 in Wray, CO, the son of James Elvis and Frances Ann Smedley Sanderson. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1939.

Mr. Sanderson served in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, and the American Theater Service Medal.

He was a life member of the VFW.

Mr. Sanderson is survived by four daughters: Carol Cheek and husband Michael of Lawrence, Betty Stellwagen and husband Larry of Perry, Patty Thomas and husband Bert of Belton MO., and Carol Smith of Sedalia MO., one sister: Ethel Mae McKelvey of Lawrence, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three wives: Doris Jean Metzger, Gladys Elizabeth Groninger, and Eunice Margaret Maxwell. two sisters: Eva Gladys Shore, and Ella Elma Russell, one son: Arthur Tarpy Jr., and two daughters: Mary Kreeger, and Lorene Mitchell.
