A visitation for Tristan Alexis Westphal, 35, Lawrence, will be from 6 pm to 7 pm Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory.
Tristan peacefully left this world on January 6, 2014.
He was born May 18, 1978, in Hastings, Nebraska, the son of Steven Ethan and Michelle Renee Moore Westphal. He attended school at Superior Public Schools and graduated from Lawrence Alternative High School. He also attended railroad school at Johnson County Community College.
He was employed at various crafts, as an apprentice chef at the Adams Alumni Center; the Reuter Pipe Organ Company, where he was a finisher; at Vaughncraft Percussion in Baldwin, where he crafted world class tambourines; and Schlumberger in Lawrence.
Tristan was a very dedicated and doting father. Besides spending time with his daughters and family, he enjoyed listening to music, as well as going to concerts, fishing, gardening, cooking, fine cuisine, and fine beers. He was very caring, generous, and a loyal friend to many and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his daughters, Aurora and Athena Westphal, Olathe; parents Steve and Michelle Westphal of Lawrence; his brother, Schuyler and wife Jasmine; sister, Chanelle and partner Patrick; nephews, Nevada Diehl of Superior, Nebraska, Quinton Westphal of Lawrence; niece, Laney Westphal of Lawrence; and grandmother, Clara Westphal.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Donald Moore; grandma, Fern Moore; and uncle, Hugo Westphal.
