
Graveside services for Carlene Ann Passell, 62, Lawrence, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2011, at Oak Hill Cemetery. Carlene died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Carlene was born in 1948 in Cheyenne County, Kansas. The daughter of Samuel Carr Passell and Signa Joyce Passell.
Carlene is survived by long time companion David Davis of the home; 2 sons, Chad Wahrman and his wife Amy of Laurens, Iowa, and Christopher Chisholm and his wife Amber of Pratt, Kansas; 2 sisters, Patricia Crabtree and her husband Dale of St. Francis, Kansas, and Sue Ellen Stimbert and her husband Troy, of Hays, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Steven, Paige, and Samantha Wharman, and Caiden Chisholm; 2 nephews and a niece, Derek Crabtree, Ashlee Rhea, and Trent Stimbert; and 1 great niece, Kaylee Sue Rhea.
Carlene was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Carlene graduated high school in 1966 in St. Francis, Kansas. She moved to Colby, Kansas where she received her degree as a registered nurse. She worked many years as an RN in area hospitals and nursing homes.
In 1999 she moved to Lawrence, Kansas.
Carlene never met a stranger. She had a special way of making you feel like you had known her forever. She truly enjoyed people of all ages. She made many many friends throughout her life. Carlene enjoyed cooking, reading, and keeping in touch with phone calls and e-mails to friends and relatives.
Carlene had developed many health issues in the last several years of her life, which kept her close to home.
She will be missed by many special friends and relatives.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home where the family will recieve friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
