Lee Jackson “Jack” Clevenger Jr.

A memorial service for Lee Jackson “Jack” Clevenger Jr., 86, Lawrence, will be 2 pm, Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Lawrence Baptist Temple, Pastor Gary Myer officiating. Inurnment will take place following service at Memorial Park Cemetery.

He died Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.

Jack was born June 4, 1929, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Lee Jackson Sr. and Charlotte Sarah Marie Francis Clevenger. He graduated from Wyandotte High School, Kansas City in 1948. Later he attended University of Kansas in Lawrence Kansas.

He was a United States Navy Corpsman in the 1950’s and worked as a Navy Medic. He received a medical discharge. After his years of service Jack worked as an Accountant for Kansas University, TV Repairman, and later he became a Salesman.

Jack married Minnie Mae Kilgore, in 1954. They divorced in 1974. He married Elizabeth Schmidt in 1974. They divorced in 1985.

Survivors include his brother David Clevenger, wife Hiroko, Spokane,Washington; sister Willie Pearl Meier; daughter Vicki Taylor, husband Glen,Lawrence; son Stephen Clevenger,wife Robin, Lawrence; daughter Melody Kreisman, husband John,Prairie Village,KS; daughter Angeleena Blackburn, husband Timothy; 2 stepsons Mathew Schmidt, Chris Schmidt, and step-daughter Susan Sprague; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Jackson Clevenger Sr., His Mother Charlotte Sarah Teresa Francis, and His sister Jo-Ann Marshall.
