Glenn F. Dieker

Mass of Christian Burial for Glenn F. Dieker, 67, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mick Mulvany officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Dieker died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Mar. 18, 1943, in Iola, the son of Clarence C. and Marie A. Frisch Dieker. He graduated from Westphalia High School in 1961, and later attended Fort Scott Community College, Emporia State, and Kansas University.

Mr. Dieker owned and operated Dieker Oil and Gateway Auto Service in Lawrence for many years. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf, and bridge.

He married Erma L. Rolf on Sept. 6, 1962. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Scott and wife Angela, Lawrence, and Steve and wife Kim, Clinton, Kan., a daughter, Ronda Dieker and husband Terry Kirk, Berryton; a brother, Jerry Dieker and wife Loretta, Olathe; a sister, Dorothy Rolf and husband Carl, Emporia; and five grandchildren, D.J., Delaney, Madeline, Kody, and Stanton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Matthew Wolever.

Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and the family will receive friends at the church following the rosary.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association, or the Douglas County 4-H Foundation, in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
