Graveside services for Lila B. Boehle Sawyer, 91, Quapaw, OK will be at 10am. Friday, Mar. 30, at the Worden Cemetery, Douglas County, KS.
Mrs. Sawyer died Tuesday in Quapaw. She was born Nov. 19, 1920 in Lawrence the daughter of Henry August and Vera Ellen Pippert Boehle.
She lived in the Lawrence most of her life until moving to Oklahoma in 2003.
She was a homemaker and worked in the kitchen at Baker University.
She married Richard D. Sawyer, he preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1971.
Mrs. Sawyer was a member of the Worden United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, traveling, and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter Karen and husband Robert Barnhart of Afton, OK, grandchildren Richard and wife Christine Chanute, KS, Julie and husband Glen of Chanute, Sandy Handrich of Brunswick, GA, and Connie Corley of Afton, 7 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7pm. at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
