Ralph Gilbert Osburn

Graveside services with military honors for Ralph Gilbert Osburn, 87, Lawrence, will be 1 pm, Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, KS.

Visitation for family and close friends will take place from 11:30-12:30 pm.

Ralph died on Monday August 26th, 2019, at LMH Health.

He was born to Herbert an Ethel Osburn in Homer Louisiana on July 5, 1932. He was the 4th of 6 children. In order they were Edward, Richard, James, Ralph, William, and Margaret. Shortly following his birth, on the Kitchen table of the family home, his mother cleaned up the mess and prepared lunch for the rest of the family. Ralph was preceded in death by both parents and all five of his siblings.

Ralph served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 852.

He was twice married and divorced. He had five children, all from his first marriage. Ralph, Jayne, Judy, Richard, and Robert. He was preceded in death by Jayne in 1957 and Robert in 2010.

Ralph held many jobs throughout his lifetime, but his favorite was running the saw at Fleetwood Mobile Homes. He loved working with wood!

Survivors include sons Ralph (Perry, KS), Richard (Lawrence, KS), Daughter Judy Sharp (Merced, CA), Daughter in law Vicky Osburn (Michigan), one sister in law Judith Osburn (Lecompton, KS), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and three generations of nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions made to Salvation Army, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Alvis Keithen Osburn

Graveside services for Alvis Keithen Osburn, 57, Windsor, MO, will be 1 pm, Monday, November 26, 2018, at Clinton Cemetery. A visitation will be 11:30-12:30 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

He died Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.

Keithen was born November 30, 1960 in Gardner, KS, the son of James Alvis and Barbara May Keller Osburn.

His kids meant the world to him. It brought him great joy taking care of them.  He loved to cook, hang out and have a really good time. On occasion he would howl at the moon.

Survivors include his children, Robert Lee Osburn, Windsor, MO, Mary Peck Cameron, MO, Jason Peck (Rachel) Cameron, MO, Amanda Edens (David), Sugar Hill, GA, Stephen Peck, Osborn, MO; siblings, Bobby Osburn (Della), Lawrence, James Osburn (Nita), Lawrence, Jesse Osburn, Leeton, MO, Ira Osburn, Leeton, MO, Emma Osburn, Windsor, MO, Ellen Osburn, Topeka; ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and niece Bonnie May and nephew Christian Osburn.
