Memorial services for Ralph Winfield “Win” Campbell, 75, Lawrence, will be at 10 am, Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at First Southern Baptist Church.
He died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Win was born August 15, 1942, in Lawrence, the son of Ralph Golden and Ruth Hayes Peck Campbell. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1960.
Win was the owner of multiple Downtown Lawrence businesses since 1964. Most notable: Campbell’s Clothing and Winfield House. He was a former Downtown Lawrence President and Board Member, and Former Vice-Chair of the Douglas County Republican Party. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and John Wayne fan. Win’s passion after his wife, Linda, was gardening – we’re not sure which came first.
Win married Linda Sue Midyett on July 16, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include Daughters: Carrie Gerace, Merritt Island, FL and Megan King, Lawrence, KS; Son: Ken Campbell, Olathe, KS; Sisters: Susan Noon, Spotsylvania, VA and Nancy Byers, San Antonio, TX; and 8 Grandchildren
A visitation will take place at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home from 5-6 pm Monday, January 1, 2018.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions made to the Veritas Christian School or Cottonwood Inc, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
