Graveside services for Robert Leroy Patterson, Sr. “Bob”, 68, Lawrence, will be Thursday, Dec. 17 at 10am at Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at Union Pacific Depot in North Lawrence following services.
He died December 4 at his home surrounded by his children after a long battle with lung diseases.
He was born August 26, 1947 in Lawrence, son of Art and Edna (Corbin) Patterson. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965. He was a self-employed mechanic and many years ago was a member of the Painters Union.
Bob will be remembered as a fan of hot rods and classic rock music. He also enjoyed Lone Star Lake with his family. He enjoyed traveling to Colorado and his favorite spots included Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods and Limon.
He married Wanda Mooney in 1967. From that union came daughter Candy and sons Robert, Jr. and Kenny. They divorced. He married Linda Schaumburg in 1981 and they had a son Samson. They later divorced.
His parents preceded him in death as did brother Raymond and infant brother Larry and sister Marilyn. He is survived by brother Galen.
He is survived by daughter Candy, Lawrence; sons Robert and wife Lisa, Tonganoxie; Kenny and wife Lynda, Basehor; Samson and finance Tara, Lawrence and stepdaughters Michelle Davis, Lawrence and Amy Baughman-Kitzman and husband Shawn, Lawrence and stepson Wayne Baughman, Punta Gorda, FL.
He is also survived by grandchildren Stephen Patterson, Lawrence; Felicia Patterson (Mannie), Lawrence; Robby, Grace, Audrey, Ashleigh, Austin and Alicia all of Tonganoxie and Amber (Brian) of San Diego; Austin (Hannah) and Courtney both of Basehor. Great grandkids are Cole, Peyton, Elaynha, Elyjah, TiaKia and Melina.
