Sid Harrison

Memorial Mass for Sid Harrison, 74, will be at 10am. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Danville, KS.

He was born January 18, 1937, in Colby, KS, the son of Claude E. Harrison and Alice V. Sible.

He graduated from Colby High School in 1955 and earned a degree in architecture from Kansas University in 1961.

Mr. Harrison was a partner in Peters Harrison Williams Architecture Firm in Lawrence. He moved to Dallas, TX and worked for Redmond Construction Company. He returned to Lawrence where he started Harrison Construction Company. He later worked for Hall-Kimbrell and then became a realtor with Stephens Real Estate in 1995.

He was member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity and served in the National Guard during his college years. He was a director for the Lawrence Board of Realtors, on the board of Hannah’s House, and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. His favorite things were his family, friends, golf, playing cards, and hunting.

He married Raydell Hodson on June 6, 1959. She died in 1998.
He married Glenda Jasperson Reid on November 24, 2001. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters; Lisa McLoon and her husband Dave, Liberty, MO, and Lynn Ollila, Lawrence, KS, and Leslie Hazlett and her husband Dale, Lawrence, KS, and one son; Jeff Harrison and his wife Cara, Raleigh, NC, and one brother; Chuck Harrison and his wife Anita, Lakewood, CO; and seven grandchildren. Also, his wife’s daughter, Amy Fischer, Overbrook, KS, and her three children.

Friends may call from 9am. to 8pm. Tuesday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home where the family will receive friends at 6pm. and a rosary will be received at 7pm.

The family suggests memorials to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
