Graveside services for Andre Sanders will be at 11 am Friday, April 15, 2016, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. The family will meet with friends Friday from 10 am until we leave for the cemetery.
Amos “Andre” Sanders passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2016 at Stormont Vail in Topeka Kansas. Amos was born April 21, 1969 to the late Richard Chanvers and Pauline Sanders. Amos was raised in Hollandale, Mississippi before moving to Lawrence, Kansas. Amos graduated from Lawrence High School in 1989 and later graduated from Kaw Valley Area Technical School in 1999, becoming a certified auto mechanic. Amos enjoyed working on cars, hunting and fishing trips, and spending time with family and friends. He was a proud new first- time grandpa and loved spending time with baby Corey.
Amos was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Pauline, and his grandparents Rose and L.T. Simmons, and Georgia Mae and Willie Sanders. Amos is survived by his children Brandon Turner, Alyssa Jones, Justine Craig, and Diondre Jones-Sanders, as well as step children Taylor and Cassidi Jones, and former step daughter Kinisha Bridgewater. Amos was also survived by one grandchild, Corey Javon Jones. Amos is also survived by his aunts Minnie Brown, Mammie Robinson, Perthinia Paul, Betty Marshall, Nellie Mae Murrell, and Margaret Plymer. Surviving uncles include George Marshall, Roy Simmons, Zack Sanders and Lionel Sanders as well as many cousins.
Amos will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts.
