Funeral services for Annabelle Kerby, 93, Lawrence, will be at 2 pm Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, with Minister Gaylin Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Kerby died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
She was born July 23, 1922, in Saddle, Ark., the daughter of Enos Edgar and Sara Elsie Williams Frazier. She grew up and attended schools in Mammoth Springs, Ark. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
Annabelle married James Millard Kerby Sr. on May 15, 1940 in Salem, Ark. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Weaver. Survivors include a son, James Kerby Jr. and wife Maria, Eudora; a daughter, Millie Beers and husband Norman, Lawrence; three grandsons, Aaron Kerby, El Paso, Tex., Norman Dale Beers, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Daron Lee Beers, Olathe; one granddaughter, Marcia Bradley, Gardner; a sister, Donna Hoover, Lawrence; eleven great grandchildren, eight nieces, and six nephews.
Friends may call from 9 am to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Hospice, or the Lawrence Humane Society, in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
