Donald Ervin Archinal

Memorial services for Donald Ervin Archinal, 79, Lawrence, will be 3 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church.

He died Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Donald was born October 19, 1936, in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of Curtis Leroy and Gertrude Anna Hayes Archinal. He graduated from Berryville High School in Berryville, AR.

He enlisted in the US Navy from 1957-1961, then later transferred to the US Marine Corp. from 1961-1970. He was a master craftsman who worked in many fields, the last of which was as Maintenance Supervisor for Aeroquip Corp., Lawrence, KS. He also enjoyed many varied hobbies, such as coin-collecting, fishing, antiquing/flea markets, wood working, and reading.

He was a member of Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church, a member of the American Numismatic Society, and was a member of the American Legion Post 142, Perry, KS.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Ford Archinal, Lawrence; a daughter, Donna Tucker, Linwood, KS; a son, Alan Archinal and wife Carol, Perry, KS; two grandchildren, Kayli Tucker and Tyler Archinal; two step-grandchildren, Nicole Garber and husband, Micah, Lawrence, KS; Rachel Ussery and husband, Travis, Colorado Springs, CO; step-great grandchildren; Aleah, Ashton, and Cole Garber and Xander and Colton Ussery, and
several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Curtis Archinal.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions made to the charity or organization of choice, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street Lawrence, KS 66044.
