Funeral services for Doris Joyce “Dory” Ottinger, 89, Lawrence, will be 1 pm, Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. A visitation will be 6-7:30 pm, Monday, December 16, 2019.
She died December 13, 2019, at 1:35 am at LMH Health.
Dory was born May 28, 1930, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of August Volkmann Jr. and Erna Marie Jahnke.
She met her husband Carroll F. Ottinger and married May 7, 1955. They celebrated 64 years together. He preceded her in death June 24, 2019.
Together they had two daughters Linda Ottinger-Dopp of Lawrence and Janet Foster of Lawrence; two granddaughters Erica Kellerman and Ashley Foster both of Lawrence; great grandson, Hudson Foster and her beloved dogs, Precious, Cashew and Squirt.
Doris was an active doll collector. Her collection grew to over 400 Dolls. She collected Barbie dolls, Shirley Temples, Madamn Alexanders and much, much more. She was a member of Over the Rainbow Doll Club and the Lawrence Pilot Club.
