Glenn Daniel Hymes

Glenn Daniel Hymes, 82, of Lawrence passed away January 16, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Hymes was born November 18, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to Glen Wilfred Hymes and Agnes Elizabeth Hoban. He married the late Helen Stasyszen April 8, 1961 in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed a career as an Electronics Technician and Supervisor for the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement in 1990. A longtime resident of Independence, Missouri and Overland Park, Kansas, he settled in Lawrence after brief stays with his sons in Texas and Oklahoma. He was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church and gave generously to his church, family, and community.

Hymes is survived by sons Glenn Micheal Hymes and wife Christina, and Edward Thomas Hymes and wife Cynthia; Grandchildren: Kayci Renea Hymes, Evan Daniel Hymes, Edward Anthony Hymes, Alexander Javier Hymes, and Marcela Myrnaelen Hymes; Sister Mary-Lou Glass as well as other loving family members.

A memorial mass celebrating Glenn Hymes’ life will be held at 9 A.M., Friday, June 8th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence. A graveside service will take place at 11:30 A.M. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
